Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFERN DEACON Fern Deacon was "Promoted to Glory" on February 28, 2015. She will be lovingly missed by her husband Paul after 36 years of marriage. Fern was a loving mother to her sons, Peter (Loree) and Paul (Nettie) and her beautiful grandchildren Alivia, Levi, Elijah, Erva, and Kodi. Fern is also survived by her sister Joy Reid and brother Bruce Reid (Robin) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Fern was born in Cornerbrook, Newfoundland on April 8, 1957 to Levi and Sadie Reid. When Fern was five years of age the family moved to Oshawa. Fern eventually moved to Winnipeg, fell in love and married Paul. Fern loved God, family, children, and the Salvation Army church. The family would like to express our thanks to the many doctors who tried valiantly to fight the unknown disease that took Fern's life too soon. We also wish to thank the many nurses, health care aides and hospital staff who cared for her at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg and previously at the Grace Hospital. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at The Salvation Army, Heritage Park Temple, 825 School Road in Winnipeg.
