Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERTHA (BIRDIE) JANZEN (nee FEHR) November 22, 1935- March 1, 2015 It is with extreme sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Bertha Janzen, 79, on March 1 surrounded by love, with brave acceptance of a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer only a few short weeks prior. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Karen and Wendy (Willi); son Randy; grandchildren Lindsay, Kyle (Jackie), Tara, and Aaron (Haley); much adored great-grandchildren Justin and Zoe; and all the family pets. She will be missed by the many extended family members and friends that Bertha touched over her lifetime. Bertha was predeceased by her husband, Otto, in 2009 and many of her 18 siblings and other family. Mom / Gramma / Oma would describe her life as wonderful', and she seldom complained when confronted with hardships, caregiving burdens or this illness. Her positive attitude of well, we'll do what we can...' served her well. She had opportunities to travel, spend time at the lake, experience many activities with family and she enjoyed every minute. Mom particularly enjoyed her independence in her apartment, continuing to make perogies and bake for her family and made many friends while volunteering at the 1630 meal program, Good Neighbours and Blanketing Manitoba. We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Riverview Health Centre 3 E for their compassionate care. Cremation with private interment has taken place and a memorial celebrating Bertha's life is planned for Friday, March 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery, Highway 1 East at Navin Road. A donation, in Bertha's memory to a charity of your choice, is appreciated. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery (204) 222-3241 Condolences may be sent to www.greenacresfuneralhome.com

I am so sad to hear of Aunty Bertha passing. She was a very special Aunt and I have many wonderful memories of spending many holidays, cottages in the whiteshell etc., sleeping over, as a child. I have many wonderful memories as an adult too, and will miss her dearly. - Posted by: Kim van Raalte (Fehr) (Niece) on: Mar 05, 2015
