MARY NEUFELD (nee HIEBERT) April 28, 1913 - February 27, 2015 Mary passed away peacefully on Friday, February 27 2015. Left to cherish precious memories are her sons Paul, Richard (Brenda), William (Silvia), Edd (June) Schellenberg, sister Nettie Funk, stepchildren Rae Neufeld, Henry Neufeld, Herb Neufeld, Esther (Jim) Burns, Betty (Bob) Jordan, Brian Moore, Ernie (Alma) Neufeld, Jim (Norma) Neufeld, 24 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. Mary started working on the farm at age 14. In 1933, she came to Winnipeg and worked as a domestic. At age 31, she married Jacob Schellenberg. They raised four boys and were married for 32 years. In 1977, she married Abe Neufeld. They spent much of the time traveling during their 11 ½ years of marriage. In the last 25 years she lived independently at Arlington Haus, volunteering and enjoying many friendships. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Bethania for their compassionate care. A celebration of Mary's life will be held on Monday, March 9 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame Avenue, Winnipeg Manitoba. Interment to follow at the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's memory to the Bethania Personal Care Home, the Mennonite Central Committee or a charity of your choosing. www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715
