JIM WEBSDALE Jim was born July 8, 1933, in Smeaton, SK, and grew up on the family farm with parents Nellie and Jack. The oldest of five children, he was soon joined by a sister, Marlene, and brothers Keith and Ron. The family moved to the northern Manitoba mining town of Flin Flon in 1944. It was there that Jim's youngest sister Margaret was born. Despite a family penchant for pranks, Jim was a good student and finished high school in Flin Flon. After moving around the north for a few years, he headed south to Winnipeg to attend the University of Manitoba, where he planned to study engineering. He didn't complete the program and instead attended the Manitoba Institute of Technology, where he graduated as a stationary engineer. In Winnipeg, he met Annette Neault. They raised three sons and two daughters. Jim loved his family and worked hard all his life to provide for them. He loved reading about science, working on cars and was always ready to help a friend any way he could. He took the good and the bad life handed him with grace and dignity and was never heard to say a bad word about anyone. After he retired as a stationary engineer, he continued working for many years as a carrier for the Winnipeg Sun. He leaves behind his daughter Estelle, sons Craig, Stanley and Grant, brothers Keith and Ron and sisters Marlene and Margaret. He will also be missed by grandchildren Cory, Miranda, Dakota, Jesse and L.J., and great-grandchildren Hailey and Mia. He was predeceased by his daughter Michelle and wife Annette. His life will be celebrated Tuesday, March 10, 10:00 a.m., at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715
