MARGARET KENDALL July 23, 1920 - March 5, 2015 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Margaret Kendall on Thursday, March 5, 2015. She passed away peacefully with family by her side. Margaret was devoted to her family and Church all of her life. Left to forever cherish Margaret's memory are her sons, John and Philip; her daughter Elaine; numerous nieces and nephews in England; as well as her grand cats Zoe and Xena. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Francis (Frank); her father John; and her mother Mary. On July 23, 1920, Margaret was born in Widnes, Lancashire (now Cheshire), England. During the Second World War, she served with the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS), women's branch of the British Army. Prior to, and after the war, she worked for many years at The Globe Slipper works in Waterfoot, Lancashire. Margaret and Frank were married on September 10, 1955, and resided in Accrington, Lancashire, until the family immigrated to Canada in August 1967. They lived in Thompson, Manitoba until Frank's retirement from INCO in 1989, at which time they moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Highway with Rev. Fr. Barry Schoonbaert, presiding. Interment will follow in St. Vital Cemetery in the Roman Catholic Section, 236 River Road, Winnipeg, MB. The family would like to thank the Access Transcona Home Care Staff and Respite staff, for their assistance and compassion over the last couple of years. Thank you to Tracey at Singleton's for her home visits that kept Mom looking her best. Thank you to Fr. Janusz of St. Alphonsus Parish for his kindness.
