LILLIAN HYDE MAINES (nee LANCASTER) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lillian Maines on February 26, 2015, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 90 years. Lillian was born in Winnipeg on December 27, 1924. She grew up in Winnipeg, graduating from Daniel Mac Collegiate. She began work as a reporter for the Winnipeg Free Press where she became known as Lynne by her co-workers and friends. Along with her husband, Lee (Leland), they moved to Montreal where, over the years, Lynne gave birth to sons Keith, Kenneth, Warren, Ross and daughter Pamela. They were blessed later by 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The family moved back to Winnipeg in 1967 and settled in St. James. Lynne was known for her wit, sense of humour, compassion and love for her family. Safe travels "Minty Mama Maines" We love you. The family would like to express their sincerest thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the 5th floor, East Wing, Deer Lodge Hospital for the care and loving they gave to Lynne over the past three years. In keeping with Lynne's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service held. Interment will take place at a later date.
