Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBEATRICE WLOSEK (nee MCAMMOND) Peacefully, Beatrice passed away at Riverview Health Centre on March 1, 2015 at 93 years of age. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph in 2012. She is lovingly missed by her son David (Donna) Solmundson, daughters Patricia (Bruce) Jennings and Barbara (Glenn) Connell; grandchildren Jeff and Rob Solmundson, Laura Neault, Jonathan and Joanne Jennings; and four great-grandchildren. Beatrice was predeceased by her siblings Wallace, Tom, Austin and Jim McAmmond and is survived by her sister Evelyn (Ernie) Copper. Bea was born on Eggerton Road in St. Vital April 21, 1921 and spent most of her life in the Lord Roberts and Riverview neighbourhoods of Winnipeg. She attended Rosedale United Church (now Churchill Park) and enjoyed her membership and service in the United Church Women's group where she had many dear friends. Girls Club was also a special group of friends that Bea enjoyed for decades. Bea worked at Eaton's in the Men's Hat Department for many years. Coming from a Scottish family of excellent bakers, Bea continued the tradition of baking Scottish shortbread, a sought after treat at bake sales and enjoyed by her family. Bea and Joe had a cottage at Brereton Lake where Bea spent much of her time picking blueberries and baking countless pies. They also enjoyed winter holidays with friends in Lake Havasu, Arizona. Bea and Joe had many happy years at South Osborne Place where they participated in many social activities. In recent years, one of Bea's favourite summer pastimes was to sit in the shady garden overlooking the river and watch the squirrels and birds vying for the seeds in the bird feeders. The family is grateful for the support provided by the W.R.H.A. Home Care Program which enabled Bea to maintain her independence. Many special friendships were developed with the Home Care Workers. Thanks also to the health care teams at Victoria General Hospital and Riverview Health Centre Personal Care for their recent care of Bea. She was a great mother and grandmother a sweet and gentle soul. The family will miss her gentle and caring manner. At Bea's request no funeral service will be held. Rest in Peace, Mum.
