She was predeceased by her parents Emil and Victoria Petrachek; brothers Stanley, Emil, Joseph and Frank; sisters Bronia and Theresa; and her beloved husband Anthony. Sophie enjoyed retirement years in Arborg with her best friend and sister Theresa. They were devout members of St. Philip Neri Parish. Although Sophie moved to Neepawa in 2005 and then to Dauphin in 2010, her heart remained in Arborg with the people of St. Philip Neri Parish. Sophie remained grateful for the love and friendship of many, especially George and Frances Atwell of Winnipeg, Clara Smith of Arborg, Sr. Agnes Jolicoeur of St. Boniface, Phyllis Adamyk and Rémi Bouchard of Neepawa and Barbara Brandzin of Brandon. A special thank you to Sr. Jean Zemliak and the staff at St. Paul's for their care, compassion and prayers for Sophie over the past five years. Another special thanks to her "knight in shining armor" and chauffeur, Bernie Smith of Dauphin, MB. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday March 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Philip Neri Parish, Arborg. Presider: Fr. David Kowalski. Please, no flowers during this season of lent. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Philip Neri Parish, "the place she always called home". White's Funeral Home in care of arrangements. 204-476-2848
