THELMA MILNE (nee JENKINSON) Thelma Milne (nee Jenkinson) of Winnipeg, MB passed away on March 10, 2015 in her 94th year. Thelma was born on July 3, 1921 in Ilford, Essex, England to the late Alfred and Eleanor Jenkinson. She married Ritchie (Dick) Milne on December 23, 1944. Thelma left school at age 14 to work in London on Fleet Street. She joined the Royal Air Force, Women's Division in 1941 to be part of the war effort, during which she met and married Dick. Following the war, the couple briefly moved to Kelvington, SK and then to Winnipeg, MB. Thelma raised her two children, Linda and Raymond, and then worked at the downtown Eaton's store for many years. Thelma was an avid knitter and loved to shop. Dick and Thelma also traveled extensively. In retirement, the couple moved to Kirchhoff Gardens, where Thelma enjoyed working in the craft room and playing Bingo. When Thelma's health deteriorated, the couple moved to the Waverley and then to Dakota House assisted living facilities. She was predeceased by her parents and her son Raymond. She leaves to mourn her husband, Dick, of 70 years, her daughter Linda (George), four grandchildren (Susan, Steven, James and Alan) and eight great-grandchildren, as well as many extended family members and friends. The family would like to thank Vista Park Lodge for their exceptional care and compassion in Thelma's final months. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba.
