Condolences & Memories (13 entries)

  • I hadn't seen Mrs. Phillips for many years but I do have fond memories of my friend Diane's Mom. She was a kind, loving, caring Mom and treated all her kids' friends like one of her own. I especially loved to stay for dinner when you could smell the homemade tomato soup on the stove. RIP Mrs. Phillips. You are loved by many, & will be remembered. - Posted by: Jeannette (McVey) Spicer (friend) on: Mar 25, 2015

  • Olive was a very fine person, giving her time and herself to many people on a volunteer basis and always very welcoming in her home. I missed seeing her when she left Stonewall as she was always out and about. I admired her for her strength and her generous heart. My condolences to the family. Linda Hall, friend. - Posted by: Linda Hall (Friend) on: Mar 22, 2015

  • When I met Olive she was living in Stonewood Place and was so very happy to see the Handivan service running smoothly in our community. She often commented that she was one of the people who helped instigate and then run the service we now have for our community to transport those who have limited mobility. It was a pleasure to meet her and to know that through my work I help to maintain the vital service she helped begin. She would often go out of her way to make sure everyone had a smile on their face and a warm feeling in their heart. God bless you and the family you now leave to mourn your passing. - Posted by: Joanna Hemsley () on: Mar 21, 2015

  • I knew Olive as long as I can remember both in Emerson and in Stonewall. We used to meet quite often and she and I would remember the old days in Emerson or she would keep me up to date with her family at that time. • I have no memory of not knowing Olive Phillips. She was one of the most loving women that I have ever met. She smiled always and embraced me. Her home was full of love and acceptance and she was a model of accepting the cards you were dealt and making the most of life. - Posted by: Annette Clawson (Friend) on: Mar 19, 2015

  • Joanne and families: I was so sorry to read of your Mom's passing. For many years, Olive has been a loyal friend, a caregiver, a smiling face to a multitude of people in the Stonewall area. As a volunteer, she had many more options to help those less fortunate than her. She was a woman of class and unselfishness. Olive will be remembered and missed.
