KENNETH ALLAN FOWELL

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH ALLAN FOWELL July 16, 1920 - March 11, 2015 Al is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Phyllis, daughters Lynda and Terry, grandchildren James, Angela and Collin (Colleen), and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Alice, numerous nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews. During the Second World War, Al served in the RCAF overseas in England and India for over three years. After returning from the war he worked at Deer Lodge Hospital and continued his career with the Department of Veterans Affairs for over 30 years. Al was a member of St. Mary's Anglican Church for over 50 years as well as a lifetime member of the Charleswood Legion. During his time with the Legion he served all offices including President and Secretary. Two servings on Manitoba Command with duties as Resolutions Committee Secretary. Represented Manitoba Command for a session on Dominion Command Resolutions. Special thanks to Patrick Beirnes, who was Dad's companion and caregiver for four years and became part of the family. Also thanks to the Staff of Deer Lodge Centre Tower 5 for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Al's name to a charity of their choice. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Charleswood Legion in the Tank Room, 6003 Roblin Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. Ken you have made the last 4 years very special, it was an honour to know you and go on all our outings and you were like a father to me. Thanks to you and all our coffee and donuts and ice cream.
