  • Mom Teodora Gutierrez was a devotee of St. Anthony of Padua since teenage years. She wore brown habit and veil with white cord in her waist in Church like that of St. Anthony. Many miracles St. Anthony gave Mom and Dad when they were newly-married. They were hiding during World War II when Dad saw a man dressed in brown and bald head with hair surrounding whenever the Japanese soldiers were approaching their hiding place, the man in brown habit spread his cloak to protect my parents. Afterwards, Dad asked Mom who it was. Mom was overwhelmed with joy. "It was St. Anthony, my dearest patron saint. Thank you, St. Anthony." St. Anthony rewarded Mom's devotion to him. A day before GOD took her life, Fr. Dado Parrenas of St. Anthony of Padua Church stopped by Mom's room at the St. Joseph Residence to give Mom the Annointing of the Sick-Extreme Unction. We heard Mom said ️Amen during the prayers and nodding her head. Mom's last rites Holy Mass was celebrated by Fr. Dado that day Mom passed away on March 16 at St. Anthony of Padua Curch. - Posted by: Juanita Gutierrez (Daughter) on: Mar 21, 2015
