Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILFRED LORNE LACEY 1925 - 2015 Peacefully on March 14, 2015, Wilfred Lorne Lacey passed into the loving arms of his Savior Jesus Christ with his family at his side, at Calvary Place Care Home, at age 89. Wilfred was born in Winnipeg, and grew up with his brothers and sister in the Winnipegosis and Fork River area. Dad was a veteran of Second World War and returned to Winnipegosis to do commercial fishing with his brothers, then joining the Game and Fish as a Conservation Officer. It was at this time he met and soon married the love of his life, his wife Edith. Wilfred worked a short time as a garage mechanic and then joined Standard Aero, where he worked for over 30 years, retiring in 1990 as a lead supervisor on the turbine engine lines. Dad proved over his life, he could master any job, no matter how complex, for himself as well as others. Dad was selflessly dedicated to his family throughout his life and was always a pillar of strength and support, even in his declining years. He was a man of integrity and always taught us to do the right thing, no matter the cost. Wilfred is survived by his loving wife Edith (nee Williamson) of 61 years, and son Brian, as well as brothers George and Melvin. He was predeceased by his daughter Sharon, brothers Fred, Reg, Chuck and sister Verna. Wilfred resided his last six years at Calvary Place PCH and the family wishes to sincerely "Thank" all the staff for the love, care, and concern they showed Dad throughout these years, and how they have truly became a second family to all of us. Wilfred has been interred at Brookside Cemetery with a family graveside committal service. A memorial service to celebrate Wilfred's life will be announced at a later date for those who are able to attend. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com
