RAE WALTER ALDRIDGE Peacefully on March 13, 2015 at the Selkirk and District Health Care Centre, Rae Aldridge passed away at the age of 71 years. Rae was born on August 13, 1943 at Rosetown, Saskatchewan. Rae was in the Air Force based near Bruno, Saskatchewan where he meet Eleanor and following a courtship, the two were married on September 30, 1967. He worked as an Electronics Technician for the Canadian Airforce and the Department of Transportation for the Government of Canada. This allowed him to travel and live in many parts of Canada eventually moving to Oakbank, Manitoba in 1981. Rae was a devoted husband and a loving caregiver to his wife Eleanor who was diagnosed with MS in 1983. He enjoyed watching and feeding the wild birds in his back yard and had a passion for the game of golf. He was particularly proud of his hole-in-one that he shot on August 17, 2007. Besides his loving wife Eleanor, he is survived by two brothers, Brian and Keith. Rae was predeceased by his only son Dean who passed away accidentally in 1989 at the age of 21, brother DeVere and sister Shirley. According to his wishes, Rae will be laid to rest with his son Dean and no formal service will be held. If friends desire, donations may be made in Rae's memory to CancerCare Manitoba. We started grade one together in Plenty, Sask. so long ago. Never forgot Rae and the times we played together at his house and ate his mom's fresh cookies. I asked Keith where Rae was last time we met. Deepest sympathies to the family. - Posted by: Don Lang (Old time friend) on: Mar 21, 2015
