  • Jim I have just been made aware of Guy's passing - I am so sorry. Both Guy and you were wonderful to me - especially those choc covered cherries - thank you so much - you have been a most compassionate and caring partner to Guy - take care - I will try to get in touch when I get back to Winnipeg. - Posted by: Lorraine Klippel (Friend and co-worker) on: Apr 06, 2015

  • Dear Jim, it is very difficult to express in a few words on a computer screen our attachment to Guy, my dear godfather I did and do admire for a lot of reasons. Because of the distance, we could not share these last long months of disease with him to soften him the life as you did. We bring you our testimony of affection Jim. We kiss you very hard, and will be always pleased to welcome you in France when you wish it for a stay and to remember so many nice moments all together. I do think of you and pray for him. - Posted by: Gauthier-Bouche Laurence (cusin) on: Apr 01, 2015

  • James, it was such a pleasure to get to know both you and Guy. You could always be guranteed of a nice smile from Guy every morning! I loved his sense of humour and quick wit! He leaves leaves a huge void for us. We will miss him hugely ! Sincerely Suzanne Sharp - Posted by: Suzanne sharp (Friend) on: Mar 30, 2015

  • I was deeply saddened to learn of Guy's passing. I remember him as a kind, charming and wonderful colleague! Way back in 1982, I was fortunate enough to be able to travel to France (specifically Bretagne) on a French and Canadian Government summer teaching exchange .As luck would have it, Guy was returning home that summer and he was most excited about the possibility of my visiting with his family in his home town. Although our efforts at getting together for this visit did not ultimately work out, I will always recall his consideration and kindness towards a young Canadian teacher making her very first ever trip overseas -- he was absolutely wonderful in his efforts to acquaint me with the region and some of its customs! As the African proverb states: 'Que la Terre soit légère sur lui'| May the Earth be light upon him'. He will indeed be sorely missed by those of us who were fortunate enough to have known him! Amitiés et mes sincères condoléances à vous et à tous les membres de sa famille. Courage à vous tous! - Posted by: Carole Poturnak (Former teaching colleague of Guy's from our days together at Kildonan East Collegiate) on: Mar 29, 2015
