Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKAETHE WIEBE It is with deep sadness that, after a brief illness, we announce the death of Kaethe Wiebe on March 22, 2015 at almost 91 years of age. Kaethe was born on April 25, 1924 in the Ukraine. She along with her family fled from Russia to Germany, immigrating to Paraguay on the Volendam ship in 1947 where the following year she married Henry Wiebe. In 1950, Kaethe, Henry and her family immigrated to Canada, settling in Winnipeg. Predeceased by her husband, parents, sisters Maria and Neta, nephew Al Reimer and brother-in-law Robert Schulz. She leaves to mourn niece Eleanor (Jim) Kay, sisters-in-law Anny Stein, Tina Schulz, Olga Wiebe and Donna Reimer and their families. Heartfelt thank you to everyone who tended to Kaethe during her time in N1 South at Concordia Hospital. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations in Kaethe's memory may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee, 134 Plaza Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3T 5K9. I have known Kaethe as far back as I can remember. She was the aunt of my friend when I was younger, and I got to know her better as I got older. She was always friendly, always interested in my life. She was a great hairdresser, and did my hair for my wedding.
