MATHILDE STOCKMANN It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mathilde Stockmann on March 24, 2015 at Seven Oaks Hospital with her children by her side. Our loving mother left us to be reunited with her beloved husband Josef, her parents, sister and brother-in-law. Leaving behind her son Robert (Brenda); daughter Claudia (Mike); grandson Chance; brother Emil; sister Liesel (Willy); nephews Udo Nintemann and Uwe Wagner. Mathilde was a long time member of the St. Joseph's Parish and a member of the CWL. She spent most of her time being a stay at home mom; taking care of the children and the home. She started her own little daycare at home with Josef; they had several children and loved them all as though they were part of the family. She enjoyed many days reading her books, writing in her journal and listening to music. She enjoyed the simple things in life; family, good food, and good conversation. We would like to thank the family and friends for their well wishes and prayers. A special thank you to Dr. Warraich and the nurses of Unit 5-1 at Seven Oaks Hospital for the wonderful care they provided during the time she was there. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenedenmemorial.ca Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 204-338-7111

  • Well Mrs. Stockmann your next journey in life has begun as it was with Mr. Stockmann. Since I've known you and your family here on 0Armstrong Ave for over 20 years we have always and will always think as you as family. Our families went thru lots together. I always enjoyed all the times we talked and the stories of the past. I will miss those but won't stop thinking of all the good times with you and your husband listening to stories. I went to see Robert today to check on him as he is the closet person I have for a brother. All I can say is that it was hard not to break down when I seen him. I know Saturday will be hard for me as it will be for others. I remember when we said goodbye to Mr. Stockmann I hugged you and just about broke down and you told me not to be sad but to be happy for him and enjoy the momeries and time we had with him. I just hope I can be strong on Saturday but I will try my best. Also if by chance you see my pops tell him "hi". I don't pray as much as I should but tonight I will. Love you Mrs S. - Posted by: Thomas (Friend, Neighbour) on: Mar 27, 2015

  • I am so saddened to hear of Hilde's passing. We were friends and neighbours when I lived on Armstrong Ave in West Kildonan. My son Garrett went to Hilde's daycare and loved it there. She was a loving and caring person and I was grateful Hilde was in our lives to take care of him. Hilde and I kept in touch over the years and she will always hold a special place in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time. - Posted by: Patti Bohoychuk (Friend and former neighbour) on: Mar 26, 2015

  • Mom, your marriage in heaven is now complete. You and dad are together for eternity and forever in love. We miss you. Love Robert and Brenda - Posted by: Robert Stockmann (Son) on: Mar 25, 2015

  • Hilde and Josef were our neighbours and friends. We lived in W. Kildonan and Hilde cared for my son before and after school. He loved Hilde because of her kindness to him and unfailing love. Yes, Hilde loved my son as her own. She was fearless and strong, always the champion of those weaker than herself, but she was also gentle and caring with young ones. She was an amazing woman, proud but very humble at the same time. We were both deeply saddened when we heard of her passing. We know what a terrible loss it is to her family and our thoughts are with them. She will always remain in our hearts. - Posted by: Deborah Mahoney (Friend and former neighbour) on: Mar 25, 2015
