EINAR SORFLATEN Einar Sorflaten peacefully passed over to the spiritual plane on March 23, 2015. Einar was born on October 12, 1912 in Mossbank, Saskatchewan and has resided at Deer Lodge Centre since October 2009. He was a Veteran of the Second World War which earned him numerous commendation medals. Einar had an inventive mind which kept him busy fixing things and always curious to explore just how everything worked. The University of Life was his Teacher. He was extremely proud of his Norwegian heritage and was the last surviving member of his five brothers and two sisters. Left to mourn his passing are nephew, Allan (Lydia) and their family, nephew, Lorne (Arlene) and their family, niece Gail and her family, especially Gail's son Rob who had a very special bond with Uncle Einar. The family would like to thank the staff on Tower 6 at the Deer Lodge Centre for all their kindness, care and compassion that was given to Uncle Einar during the past five years. Fond Memories and Always in our Hearts. Rest in Peace Uncle Einar. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • When traveling on business in Winnipeg, I checked the phone book for "Sorflaten". There are not many Sorflatens around and all the ones I knew of, were related to me. This was around 1996 or so. So I found Einar! During the short visit to his home I saw he had a Hammond organ and I mentioned my dad Eugene played the organ for radio shows in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Einar mentioned he had driven through St. Cloud sometime around 1955 or so and had met my dad! What a story! Since then, I've been in contact with Lydia Sorflaten, who, I believe is related to Einar. We still have to figure out what the chain of DNA really is between us USer's and the Canadians. But, it must be there! - Posted by: John Walter Sorflaten (a distant Sorflaten relative from the US) on: Sep 24, 2015
