HAROLD ROBERT WESTBERG (WESTY) I entered this world on Easter Sunday, April 1, 1934 and on March 19, 2015, I finally rounded third and reached home with no regrets. Corinne, my wife of over 50 years, is waiting for me in the stands in our "field of dreams". I leave behind my children, Kathleen (Jim), Alison (Rob) and Glen (Roxanne), our greatest accomplishments, and our two granddaughters, Mickeely and Sophie, who will be still looking for the goodies Grandpa hid on his last visit. I wish for them not to be sad, but to remember the good times. I also have been surrounded by wonderful friends and family and their friendship and support has been truly appreciated. Game Called Upon the field of life the darkness gathers far and wide, the dream is done, the score is spun that stands forever in the guide. Nor victory, nor yet defeat is chalked against the player's name. But down the roll, the final scroll, shows only how he played the game. Game Called, Grantland Rice, 1910 In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations can be made to the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame or the Winnipeg Humane Society. A Private Celebration of Life for friends and family to be held at a later date, for info contact Glen Eden Memorial at 338-7111. Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 204-338-7111

I knew Mr. Westberg all of my life. He was our neighbor, I lived on Hiawatha and the Westbergs on Minnehaha. He was a kind gentle quiet man. Well respected in the community, My Mother Ann raved about them Square dancing. My sincere condolences to his children. Ken Kowaluk - Posted by: Ken Kowaluk (ex-neighbor) on: Mar 29, 2015

Hal was a great friend, neighbour and we shared a lot of ends of curling together. He was a joy to visit after we moved away and we made sure that he was high on the visitors list when we were back in town. He fought hard and long before you hung them up for the last time. He will be surely missed. Rest in Peace our friend. - Posted by: Bill and Gail Hawke (Friend, Neighbour, fellow curler) on: Mar 28, 2015

My condolences to all that will miss him - and I know that there will be many. I will miss our visits and the stories he told - mostly about his children and grand-children of which he was so proud. I don't recall seeing him play ball, but if his his follow-through as a father is any indication, he must have knocked them out of the park. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Christine (niece) on: Mar 28, 2015
