VELDA ANNE DRYSDALE (nee KREEWIN) March 15, 1947 - March 22, 2015 It is with deep sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Velda on Sunday morning March 22, 2015 at her home. She is survived by husband Bob of 43 years, daughters Mandy and Kiery (Ryan) and son Bob (Chelsea), grandchildren Tesla and Emerson, all of Winnipeg, brothers Don (Leah) and family of Thunder Bay and Harold of Winnipeg, as well as brothers-in-law Doug (Donna) and family of Cochrane, AB and Jim of Nanaimo, her pet turtle Rafi, and many special friends. Velda was predeceased by her parents Harold and Nellie and Bob's parents Bob and Ivy. Velda grew up in East Kildonan and attended high school at Miles Macdonell Collegiate. After school, she worked for several years at Canadian Indemnity. After the birth of her first child she became a full time mom and homemaker. Velda volunteered for many years at the Red Cross. She loved her church, her pets, music, movies, the Bombers, the Jets, and most of all her family. She will always be remembered for her kindness and compassion towards everyone she met. Special thanks to family, friends, neighbours and John Black Memorial United Church for their thoughtfulness and support. A service will be held on Monday March 30 at 11:00 a.m. at John Black Memorial United Church, 898 Henderson Hwy., with reception to follow.
