Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCURTIS VANDE VELDE January 11, 1934 - March 27, 2015 It is with deep sadness and with family by his side, that we announce the passing of beloved husband, brother, uncle and friend, Curtis Vande Velde on March 27, 2015 at the age of 81. Curtis is survived by loving wife of 50 years, Marlene, sister Gladys (Geoff), brother Don (Karen) and many very special nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother Cecile and father Maurice. Curtis retired after 35 years with Canada Post. The family wishes to thank the caring and compassionate staff at St. Boniface General Hospital. A celebration of Curtis' life will be on April 1, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 778 Archibald St. Final resting place will be at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB), PO Box 8000, STN Main, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9. I'm sad to hear our dear old pal Curt has left us. I was out of the country when he passed, hence the late tribute. Our sincerest sympathies to wife Marlene, brother Don and Karen. Priscilla's fondest memory of Curt is walking together through Windsor Park doing the stations of the cross on good Friday. Marlene you are in our thoughts and prayers always. Curt was a great man, a gentle giant with a warm smile and a big heart. I will never forget our trips to the zoo with Connie and all of us riding on that little train. Curt never said one word but just smiled and went along for the ride.
