HELENE ELIZABETH HAWKSWORTH (nee SMITH) February 21, 1947 - March 30, 2015 It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Helene, surrounded by family, at Concordia Hospital. She is survived by her loving husband Ron, son Dan and wife Andrea Reid; her beloved mother Yvonne Smith and sisters Donna Kolbuck-Street (Jerry) and Arlene Phillips (Brian); niece Shannon Owings (Steven); brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bob and Gloria Hawksworth; Uncle Bill Morin; Aunts Joyce Morin, Bette Morin, Ida Iredale; many relatives and wonderful friends. She was predeceased by her father Fred Smith; brother Kevin Smith, and brother-in-law David Street. Helene was raised primarily in Charleswood, but spent her adult life in East and North Kildonan. Although she had many health struggles and obstacles over the years, she faced them as best as she could. She was a very friendly, generous, kind person who loved to laugh and always had a smile. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Home Care Program, Access River East and Concordia Hospital. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB, with the Reverend J. Henry Falconer officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
