Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • I just found out from Andy's niece that he had passed away. I was his sisters best friend growing up and will always remember him as the sweet boy who just looked at Colleen and I, what we were up to and he would sorta shake his head and smile. He was such a dedicated brilliant young man and I wish I had known him later in life. My love to his family. - Posted by: Darlene St. John (friend) on: Oct 20, 2015

  • Andy was our MacGyver. Always looking for the solution no matter what the challenge and with a smile on his face. Andy was a wonderful colleague and friend and I am deeply saddened by his passing. My thoughts are with Tanis, Noah, Josh and the rest of his family during this difficult time. I miss you Andy. Thanks for everything... tj - Posted by: Tammy Johnston (Friend from Postmedia ) on: Apr 09, 2015

  • I remember Andy as a dear little boy out at Uncle Douglas and Aunt Hilda's cottage, playing with his siblings and cousins. Later, as a handsome young RMC cadet and graduate. He will be remembered by all who knew him. Prayerful sympathy to all the family, Anne. - Posted by: Rev. Anne MacDermaid (cousin) on: Apr 07, 2015

  • Tanis and family, I was in utter shock when I heard the news of Andy's passing. Although I did not work with him much, the time that I did I knew he was a great soul. Our deepest and most heartfelt sympathies to you and family. "To live in the hearts of others is not to die" - Posted by: Shannon (used to work together at Canwest/Postmedia) on: Apr 06, 2015

  • When I first met Tanis she was visiting Australia on a working holiday and she had only been with Andy for a few months, so I remember the very first stages of their relationship. Tanis would call him or write to him on a regular basis and would over think things he had said (like most women do in the first stages of a relationship ha ha ha) I finally got to meet the wonderful Andy in 1998 when myself and my new partner travelled to Canada and stayed with Tanis and Andy for 2 weeks. They had a new baby and Aussie visitors to contend with but they were always accommodating and showed us around their beautiful country. Andy took my now husband (Mick) for an adventure on his yacht and Mick still talks about that day. I wish I could have come for another visit before you passed but you and your lovely family have always been on my mind and in my heart. You will be greatly missed - love from your Aussie Mates Sharon, Mick, Emalee and Jessica xxxx - Posted by: Sharon Ashe (Aussie Friend) on: Apr 04, 2015

  • Andy you were a caring and loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend. On your new journey may your seas be calm and your sails be full. You will be missed but never forgotten. RIP - Posted by: Deron Hoffmeier (Brother-in-law) on: Apr 04, 2015
