Mother was born in Montreal on May 21, 1920, the eldest daughter of David Cook Telford and Fanny Amelia (Hammond) Telford. Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, David Clark, Donald Clark (Sandy) of Winnipeg and Charles Clark (Laurel) of Brandon, Manitoba; grandchildren, Bruce (Cheryl), Sharon (Michael), Trevor (Dana), Alain, Stephen (Rachel), Jeanette, Raymond and Michael Clark and great-grandchildren, Colin, Emily, Evin, Raegan and Avianna. Emma was very proud of her family and loved us all dearly. Emma was predeceased by her husband Wallace Clark in 2009, daughter-in-law Morlyne (David) in 2010, her mother (1984), father (1985), brothers, David Telford (KIA 1944), Gordon Telford (1977) and sister Lil Perkins (1985). After school, Mom worked for eight years as a stenographer and teller in a bank in Montreal. She met Dad while he was serving with the RCAF at Dorval. They were married in Montreal on September 8, 1945, when he returned from overseas service at the end of the war. Mom bravely gave up her job and her comfortable life in the big city to face the challenges and hardships that were a part of farm life in Manitoba at that time. Emma will be remembered for her sense of humour, her hospitality and her generosity to everyone in need. Her home was open to all and she always made sure that no one left hungry. Emma was a dedicated member of the Order of the Eastern Star, an organization she loved very much for its charitable work, its dignified rituals, and the close friendships formed therein. She was a proud member of this fine organization for over 60 years. Funeral service will be held in the Treherne United Church on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Chuck Ross officiating. Interment will follow in Beaconsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and if friends so wish, a donation may be made to their charity of choice.
