Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERTRUD DITTBERNER 1920 - 2015 On April 7, 2015 our beloved mother, grandmother (Oma) and great-grandmother went home to be with her Lord. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Dagmar (Fritz) Ulrich, Burke (Elvira), Renate (Werner) Rauser, Klaus (Corinne), 10 grandchildren and their spouses, 25 great-grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends in Winnipeg and Germany. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Emil of 66 years. Her parents, Hermann and Gertrud Janke, brother Bruno Janke and sister Margot Rarog of Germany, and daughter-in-law Elvira Dittberner of Winnipeg. Gertrud was born on June 28, 1920 in Koslin, Germany and immigrated to Winnipeg with her family in 1953. She was a wonderful homemaker for her family, known for her warmth and hospitality. She loved her flowers and garden, especially at Gull Lake. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Saviour on the stormy Atlantic Sea crossing and was baptized at the WestEnd Gospel Hall and later attended Ashfield Gospel Hall. She lived out her Christian faith in her love and generosity to others. We will miss you, Mom and Oma. The family would like to thank the staff of Bethania Personal Care Home for the wonderful care of our mom for the last nine years. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Home, interment to follow at St. Clement Cemetery.
