Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOTTO KAEGI It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Otto Kaegi, son, husband, brother, father and grandfather. He passed away peacefully at home in his sleep, March 31, 2015. Otto was born June 18, 1939 in Switzerland to Elisabeth and Walter Kaegi. He was the youngest son of three brothers and two younger sisters. He loved helping on the family farm when he was growing up. At 23, he married the love of his life Charlotte, they were able to rent at first and then take over his uncle's farm, milking dairy cows. They were blessed with five children. In 1985, he made one of his dreams come true and immigrated to Canada. The family settled near Stonewall where he was able to buy a dairy farm. He retired in 1996 to a small hobby farm where he built a small beef herd. For the last three years, he enjoyed raising goats. He spent countless hours landscaping and gardening, he also loved to make his own wine and beer, but most of all he loved to spend time with his family. Left to forever cherish his memory are; his wife of 52 years, Charlotte, his children Jolanda (Albert), Gloor, Walter (Claudia) Kaegi, Daniel (Christine) Kaegi, Monika (Christophe) Roulin, 16 grandchildren which he adored. He also leaves behind to mourn him, his brothers Walter ( Lily) Kaegi, Heinrich ( Lily) Kaegi in Switzerland and one sister Ursula (Moin) in Toronto as well as many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, Elisabeth and Walter Kaegi, one sister Margrit his son Otto (2013) and one grandson Peter (2011). Cremation has taken place as per Otto's wishes; a private celebration of his life will take place with immediate family.
