Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROMEO JEAN BLANCHETTE November 2, 1926 - April 10, 2015 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Roméo Blanchette on April 10, 2015 at Ste. Anne Hospital. He was predeceased by his loving wife Rina Dufault; parents Hervé and Malvina Blanchette; and brother Rodolphe (Bernadette) Blanchet. He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Yvette (Carl) Yestrau, Paul (Marie-France), and Mona. He was deeply loved by his grandchildren: Carl Jr. (Julianne), Melisa (Dave), Santanna (Devin), Patrick C. and special great-granddaughter Mila Yestrau. He also leaves to mourn his siblings and in-laws, Anita (Jean) Campeau, Léon Blanchette and Jeannine (Bernard) Carriere, and the Dufault family. Roméo lived in Ste Anne his entire life. On July 30, 1949, he married Rina Dufault who then moved to Ste. Anne to live in their new house that he built. He was a skilled carpenter and entrepreneur. As a young man, he built and opened his first business-Roméo's Wood Work Shop. He later built and operated the Au Blé D'Or Motel. He worked hard over the years and it was never for personal gain but to ensure his family was never without. He was a devoted husband and father. According to his wishes, a private family service will be held in May. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at the Ste. Anne Hospital for their ongoing compassionate care provided to Roméo. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Villa Youville, 15 Charrière Road, Ste. Anne, MB R5H 1C9.
