Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryENID MAUREEN COBURN June 30, 1935 - April 10, 2015 The family of Enid Maureen Coburn announces her peaceful passing on April 10, 2015 at the Rosewood Lodge Personal Care Home in Stonewall Manitoba, with family by her side. Enid was born on June 30, 1935 in Balmoral, Manitoba to John and Evelyn Good. She attended school in Balmoral. Enid was predeceased by husband Reginald, parents John and Evelyn, and brothers Lionel and Sam. She is survived by her four children Kelly, Ryan (Betty), Shannon and Shauna (Randy); her seven grandchildren Valerie (Dave), Ashley (Charity), Katie (Brad), Zach, Brodie, Austin and Hannah, as well as three great-grandchildren Brody, Hayden and Hylana; her sisters Kitty, Maryann and Gloria; brothers Donald and Jack, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mum and Dad were married on June 26, 1954. They lived for a short time in Stonewall before they built the family home in Stony Mountain next door to Reg's parents. Cooking was a lifelong passion for Mum. She started her career at Riley's Bakery then went on to raise her family. After Shauna started school, she worked at the Stonewall and District Health Centre as a Dietary Aide and later moved on as Kitchen Supervisor. This was a career that Mum was very proud of and continued for 21 years until her retirement in 1997. Mum also had a small catering business known as Family Affair that she shared with her sister-in-law Eleanor Good. On her off time, Mum was always in the kitchen making delicious meals and tasty treats. She will be remembered for her homemade buns, New York Slice, butter and mincemeat tarts and shortbread cookies. She was an avid member of the Church of the Ascension and worked tirelessly for the Anglican Church Women (ACW). She was a lifetime member of the Stonewall Curling Club. Mum spent many years traveling to the Silver Broom experiencing the many cultures throughout the world. She also had the opportunity to holiday in Mexico and Hawaii as well as cruising to Alaska. Mum loved sports and was a diehard Bombers fan; attending as many games as possible. She followed the many different sporting events participated in by her children, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mum was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2001 but was determined to never let it rule her life. Mum's strong will saw her through right up until her passing. The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all caregivers involved in caring for Mum over the last few years. An extra special thanks goes out to Bonnie, Carla and Candy who made her last hours as comfortable as possible. A Celebration of Enid's life will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Mackenzie Funeral Home at 433 Main Street in Stonewall with a private family interment at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkinson's Society of Canada. MacKenzie Funeral Home Stonewall 204 467 2525 mackhome@mts.net
