ELAINE JANICE STEIN It is with deepest sorrow and heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of Elaine Janice Stein, after a courageous battle with breast cancer, with her loving family by her side, on April 13, 2015, at the age of 59 years. Left for her memory to live on in our hearts, son G.W. (Melissa), daughter Melissa, grandson Parker, and grand-daughter-to-be, along with sisters, Diane (Bill), Beverly (Joe), Melody (Phil), brother Bill (Lori), and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Bill, and mother Olga. Elaine was born on December 5, 1955, in Winnipeg. Her family was her most valued treasure. She was a devoted mother and grandmother to her two children and her grandson. She was anticipating the arrival of her second grandchild, a sister for Parker. She enjoyed her special one-on-one time with her grandson. Elaine loved to watch old black-and-white movies, reading, puzzle games, and her cat Sherman. She was passionate about her work and cherished the time spent with her extended family at Walmart store #3117. She will be dearly remembered and missed by all who were fortunate to have known her. The family is most appreciative and thankful to the tremendous 3-North staff at Grace Hospital for their compassionate caring and comfort. A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, April 22, 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in support of breast cancer research to The CancerCare Manitoba Foundation and to enhance patient care to the Grace Hospital Foundation.
