ROSE STEINHILBER It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rose Steinhilber, beloved wife of Werner Steinhilber, on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at St. Joseph's Residence. Left to cherish Rose's memory are three children, Wilf (Sabrina), Bernie (Jo-Ann), and Doreen (Brian) Szydlik; eight grandchildren Ryan, Brent (Kayli), Jennifer, Brittany (Alex), Kevin (Stacey), Angelica (Kodie), Alanna, and Jordan, and a great Oma to Jackson. She was predeceased by her mom, dad and 12 siblings. Born and raised in East Germany, Rose moved to Canada in 1950. She married the love of her life in 1954. Rose and Werner had their 60th anniversary last year. They were very involved in the Rowandale Baptist Church community. Rose worked at Goline, sewing for several years and then worked at Zellers until retirement. She enjoyed many weekends and holidays with her husband and family at their Long Lake cabin. Rose enjoyed her dog Krisy before moving to St. Joseph's Residence for her last two years dealing with diabetes and dementia. We would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph's for their compassionate care throughout her stay. On Wednesday, April 22, 2015 Rose's Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in Rowandale Baptist Church, 162 Rowandale Avenue. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Avenue. Pallbearers will be Ryan, Brent, Kevin, Jordan, Alex, and Kodie. For those who wish, viewing will be held prior to Rose's Service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Residence, 1149 Leila Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2P 1S6. Dear Doreen, Brian and kids, I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences in the loss of your mom (in-law) and Oma. She was a loving and caring lady! Have many wonderful memories with your mom and you Doreen at Long Lake, Church, Pioneer girls and just doing the sleepover thing. It is my prayer that God will wrap His loving arms around you, comfort you and give you peace and strength during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you!
