Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIDA PATTERSON Ida J. Patterson, 91, died peacefully on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Meadowood Manor in Winnipeg. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on that day. Burial will be at the Chapel Lawn cemetery. Ida Patterson, the daughter of David A. and Georgina Patterson, was born on June 19, 1923. Ida had one younger brother, Dr. David M. Patterson. She was raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She graduated from St. John's high school and then attended the University of Winnipeg, where she obtained a bachelors degree in business education. Ida was a longtime teacher, with most of her career spent teaching students at the Technical Vocational School (Tech Voc) in Winnipeg. Ida will be remembered as a person who had a very kind spirit and one who loved her family. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was almost always joyful and smiled easily whenever she greeted people. Ida lived a strong faith-based life. She had tremendous goodness within her, which she demonstrated on a daily basis. She was particularly fond of her nephews and nieces, and loved visiting with them whenever she was able. Ida will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Ida is survived by Norma Patterson, her sister-in-law; four nephews, Dr. David Patterson (Val), Norman Patterson (Nancy), Dr. Robert Patterson (Janice), Paul Patterson; one niece, Susan Daubman (Phil) and many great-nephews and nieces.
