BERT HILTON (CWO) CWO Bert Hilton passed away peacefully on April 21, 2015, at the age of 88. Predeceased by his loving wife of 64 years Leta (nee Baird), he is survived by his sons Bill (Sheila), Craig (Elizabeth), and Kevin (Teresa); grandchildren Erin, Christopher (Emilie), Graham (Erika), Emma and Sarah; and great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Zoey, Lea and Greyson. He is predeceased by his brother Don, survived by brother Jack and will be fondly remembered by his brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, and his nieces and nephews. Bert was born in Liverpool, UK, raised in The Pas and Dauphin, MB, and educated at St. John's Ravenscourt School, Winnipeg, where he was appointed School Captain. He served with the PPCLI during 1944-46 and following the war, enrolled in the RCAF in 1947 where he served with distinction throughout Canada and overseas until his retirement in 1981. He was a longstanding parishioner of St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Winnipeg, where he and Leta enjoyed the company of many close friends over the years. Bert will be remembered at a gathering of family and friends at a date and place to be announced, followed by an interment service in Dauphin. The family wish to express their sincere gratitude to the medical and support staff of Floor 7, The Deer Lodge Centre, Winnipeg, for the exceptional care they provided Bert during his time with them.
