My thoughts and prayers are with the Watson family. Mrs. Watson was Junior Choir Director at Westworth United Church when I first met her. She was so inspiring and encouraging and when she told me I should take voice lessons I remember being excited and nervous and saying, "I'd love to but just to be a better chorister, I'll never sing solo". Well, as we all know, Mrs. Watson had a way of overriding your beliefs in your limitations and I found myself at McGill studying voice and, well, singing solo was my career and livelihood for 30+ years! Thank you Mrs. Watson! - Posted by: Carolyn Sinclair (Former student) on: May 07, 2015

Well Mom since I was about 7 years old in Greenfield Park Quebec back in the '60s, you were a big part in my life. You taught me about "love" and when you left and moved back to Winnipeg we kept in touch, visited and you took me in 1970-1971. Well I did learn and I have two beautiful boys who have benefitted from all your teachings. I will always remember you. From the bottom of my heart "THANK YOU" and I Love you - Debi - Posted by: Debi Burnett McGrath (Dear friend and my Winnipeg MOM) on: Apr 27, 2015

My Darling Aunt Lorna You have always held a special place in my heart. You sang me to sleep when I was a baby (so said Mom). I was your Flower Girl when you and Uncle Doug married. You were my support when I was in need. You were my cheering section when life was good. I will miss your bright smile and twinkly eyes. - Posted by: Catheryn Pedersen (Niece) on: Apr 27, 2015

I will never forget the joy that Lorna brought to the Cherub Choir at Westworth, especially the "noodle". I was a member of the senior choir and enjoyed singing with the whole Watson family. My sincere sympathy to all of you. Lorna was a very special woman. Lorraine Moore member of Westworth United - Posted by: Lorraine Moore (Church friend) on: Apr 27, 2015

My sincere sympathy to the Watson Family. Mrs. Watson was my voice and piano teacher through my teen years until I was 21 years old. She was kind, passionate about music and encouraging to me in my music journey. She seemed to be able to choose just the right song for me... and if it involved singing in a different language, she would always find a language coach so that I would sing the Italian or German lyrics just right. I loved going to lessons, first "at the big house" on Brock and later on Clare, as she was always interested in what I was up to first and then we would get to the lesson. I remember her always serving me a treat at some point of the lesson. As a choir director, she didn't just build a choir but a community of singers who enjoyed getting together and sharing. Although I haven't seen Mrs. Watson for many years, I have thought of her often and hold her with high regard. Thinking of you.
