"I shall not die but live to proclaim the marvellous works of the Lord" [Psalm 118:17]. In my Chicago years, while working with Christian Service Brigade, I heard my friend, Gordon, had been in a tree felling accident up in northern Alberta, and that the prognosis was 'he would be a vegetable' IF he recovered. I got busy praying for his recovery, and the Lord gave me that verse as a promise of a future for Gordon. I communicated this to all of those who loved him, both family and friends. AND, yes, God works miracles, and Gordon lived a long time, and spent his life, just the fact that he was alive, proclaiming 'the marvellous works of the Lord! He's gone 'home', to continue his 'Praise The LLLord' program. - Posted by: David and Marianne MOLL [nee Kroeker] (a friend, a double second cousin, ) on: Sep 04, 2015

I'll miss you Gordon. As a youth growing up, spending time on the farm with you. The toboggan runs down your barn! And cooking french fries in your kitchen on a wood stove when your mom and dad were not at home. I was happy that you and Nettie came to my birthday party last year. You took my left over steak, You came with Warren and Mary. I miss you. I will see you there. - Posted by: Lorne and Helen Dueck (cousin and friend) on: May 08, 2015

Dearest Gordon, ** A LIFE WELL LIVED ** Your sincere spirit to connect with international friends drew us to you and Nettie. I graduated from U of M in 1999, till today, anybody whom knew you during that time, remembers you. The only names they will bring-up, no matter where they are, "How is Nettie and Gordon?" By God's blessing, I've relocated back to Winnipeg after many years away. Your final advises to me, just days ago will be forever cherished. I am blessed. I remember the first time I met Gordon, it was many decades ago in Kenora ON. I fondly remember a fishing trip with Bob & Gordon hauling our small boat from one lake up a steep hill across the RR tracks then down the other side just to catch fish. No luck. Ina and I developed a lasting friendship and through the years with Gordon & Nettie, we have spent many hours together either in their home in Winnipeg our at our place throughout N.W. Ontario. Gordon loved to talk about his faith in Christ and all the acts of service he & Nettie were involved with. Gordon will be truly missed by Ina & I. Just one more thought. I know we will see you again. The first time that I met him was at his birthday party three years ago, a few days after I came to Canada. Nettie and he always give foreigners a warm and sincere welcome and enormous help in English learning. At the table, Gordon was not a talkative speaker but a patient listener, and always willing to share his knowledge and experience when I advised him. On the road, He was a good driver, and he could always do a perfect parallel parking in a big van. I would invite him to a big dinner if I passed my road test, but it is a pity that he cannot make it. Now you are moving forward to a new place. May God bless you in heaven as you blessed others on earth. - Posted by: Yu Sun (Family friend) on: Apr 25, 2015

Gordon's wife Nettie was a sister to my uncle Henry Loewen (husband of Susie) who also died not so long ago. I knew Gordon and Nettie to be generous giving people at all times; humble and gracious. - Posted by: Al Doerksen () on: Apr 25, 2015

Gordon was the most kind, nicest, respectful and pleasant person I have ever known & I was lucky enough to consider him a friend. Always smiling, always sharing, and a truly wonderful person. I think we could all take a page from his book and try living part of our lives "Gordon's Way". I will miss you very much, so God's Speed onto whatever lies ahead, my friend. - Posted by: Mendy Wolchock (Coffee Group Friend) on: Apr 25, 2015
