Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I went to school in Winnipeg when I was 16 yrs old. I used to travel to Red Lake for church. I also attended Ray Bradley's church. I met the Thunder brothers there about 1969 1971. Max was a pleasant man. One night he asked me to drive him and his parents to Red Lake. I was to catch a bus and he would go work in Sioux Lookout. It was such a fancy blue Chevy. I was so proud as we got to Red lake and he woke up. His 1st ?, did we pass Vermillion Bay for gas and I said No. I guess that defeated the purpose. He was not mad. We ended up praying harder but no gas anywhere. I felt so bad but he said thats okay Alvin. He still laughed, still prayed up and thats the Max I knew. Never defeated, always laughed if things didn't go well. - Posted by: Alvin Thompson (Acquaintance/friend) on: May 24, 2022

  • Max always made me laugh, even when I was sad. He was a great friend, & family man. He always made you feel welcome and important. I will always miss him. - Posted by: Billy Kohut (brother-in-law) on: May 18, 2015

  • I conducted a memorial service at the school for him. - Posted by: Rev. Helena Dyck (Teacher and minister SAchigo Lake ) on: May 02, 2015
