Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryYVON TETREAULT It is with great sadness that on April 27, 2015, after a brief battle with cancer, we mourn the loss of our devoted, loving husband, father, Papa, brother, uncle and diehard Canadiens de Montreal fan, Yvon Tétreault, aged 73 years. Yvon leaves to mourn the love of his life, his wife Robin (nee Park), his sons Robert (Janice), Chris (Jaylyn), Danny (Leslie), Darryl (Heather), and his beautiful grandchildren Taylor, Ethan, and Emberlyn. He also leaves behind his brothers, Oril (Fleurette), Claude (Vicky); sisters Irma and Rachelle Hausauer; brother-in-law Kim Park (Nancy); sister-in-law April (Glenn DeCarle); mother-in-law Iris Park, and numerous nieces and nephews. Yvon was predeceased by his parents Olivier and Marie-Louise (Laurin); his brothers, Lucien (Rose), Paul (Doris) and Jean (Flore); sisters, Jeanne (Jos Mousseau), Louise (Olivier Gagné), Olive (Jos Ferland), Irene (Joe Wolkowski), Georgette, and Clairette (Roland Trudeau); sister-in-law, Charlotte Tetreault; brother-in-law, John Hausauer; nephews, Gérald, Ronald and Daniel; nieces, Rachel and Cecile, and father-in-law, Douglas. Yvon was the youngest of 14 children, born November 14, 1941 in St. Boniface, MB. He moved from St. Anne, MB to Winnipeg in 1948 where he attended Provencher School in St. Boniface. He began his career as a funeral director in 1966, progressing to the role of Manager in 1996. For 49 years, Yvon dedicated his career to preserving the memories of those departing this world, working at Desjardins Funeral Chapel for 27 of those years, retiring as a Manager in 2006. Yvon continued to work part time at Desjardins Funeral Chapel until February 23, 2015. Yvon was a faithful member of Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens Church and a member of their choir for more than 35 years. He was a proud Fourth Degree member of the Chevaliers de Colomb for 13 years. He was an avid golfer with a preference to Giroux Golf Course, but never turning down the opportunity to play anywhere. He also played goalie for many years, reluctantly retiring from hockey at the age of 52. From that point on, he was a committed armchair coach and the Greatest Fan of the Montreal Canadiens. Yvon and Robin were married June 11, 1988 in Winnipeg, where they lived for the next 26 years and raised their sons. They enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren, Taylor, Ethan and Emberlyn. They loved to travel, enjoying a trip to Costa Rica, where they celebrated Chris and Jaylyn's wedding and their 25th wedding anniversary. They relocated to Edmonton in March 2015. Although his time in Edmonton was short, he was thankful to have his family and friends close by his side. Thank you to the staff at Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton for the great care and compassion they provided for Yvon and their family. Prayers will be said at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 1 at the Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Street. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. with a eulogy at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, May 2 at the Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens Church, 289 Dussault Avenue, with viewing beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations to be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9 and Yvon would appreciate your prayers for the Montreal Canadiens to win the 2015 Stanley Cup. I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love, and Robin you and Yvon had true love, it was an honor getting to know Yvon through your stories, and every now and then when he would show up at work and chat with us ladies. A true gentleman, a caring & loving person. Celebrate his life. It was a good one! Love you so much. GO MONTREAL GO!!!! - Posted by: Zayac Family (Robin's Co-Workers) on: Apr 29, 2015
