Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRENE CHUDY (nee SAFRANIUK) Peacefully, on April 24, 2015 Irene passed away at the Bethania Personal Care Home with her family at her side. Irene was born January 6, 1936 in Pansy, Manitoba. After meeting Peter at a Valentine's Dance she married him on July 24, 1954. Irene was a loving Mother and Grandmother who enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening, baking, cooking and dancing to Ukrainian music. She was a hard worker and always made sure her children came before herself. While taking care of her family and being a devoted wife and mother, she also worked outside the home in the retail business. Mom is survived by her children; Gary (Evelyn), Janice (Brian), Vern (Nanci), Glenn and Kevin (Jennifer). She will be missed by her grandchildren Lisa, Richard (Nicole), Ryan, Tèa, Jessica, Karisse and Marley (Christopher). Brothers Lawrence and Leonard (Pam), and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Peter in 2006, and infant daughter Eileen (1954), son Dennis (1992), parents Mary (1994), and William (1996). Service will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. A reception in the Glen Eden Centre will follow the interment. Pallbearers will be Kevin Chudy, Glenn Chudy, Jennifer Chudy, Lisa Reid, Rick Chudy and Marley Missyabit. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Irene's honour to the Manitoba Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society. Glen Eden Funeral Home 204-338-7111

So sorry to hear that Aunty Irene has passed away. I remember growing up and our families getting together. Your Mom always had some fantastic treats coming out of the oven. She may not always have had an easy life, but she worked hard, and put her family first. I'll always remember her laugh echoing throughout the house. She knew how to enjoy herself. Her last few years were challenging, but now she is in a Happy Place. Although as a family you are feeling the hurt and the loss, she remains forever in your hearts.
