WALTER DOBUSH Peacefully, on April 30, 2015, Walter passed away at the Riverview Health Centre. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Mari-Ange, in 2002. He was born in Prawda, Manitoba on August 9, 1928 to Anthony and Katherine Dobush, the middle child of nine children. Walter is survived by his daughter Georgette, her children Jaime (Andrew) and Blake and their father Donald; son Glenn, daughter-in-law Audrey and their son Dallas; son James, daughter-in-law Jackie and their children, Nicholas, and Katrina. He is also survived by his siblings, Jessie Zapotochny, John (Dolly), Mary Beames, Bob (Dorothy), Julia Dobush, sister-in-law Irene Dobush, as well as many in-laws in the Gobeil family. He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Katherine; brothers, Edward and William (Dorothy); sister Stella (Mike) Schmyr; and brothers-in-law, Ted Zapotochny and Les Beames. Walter grew up in Prawda, eventually leaving home to work on harvesting fields, bush camps, mines and then was a long distance semi-truck driver for a number of years when he met Marie-Ange. They married in 1960 and when he obtained employment with Manitoba Hydro, the move to Winnipeg was imminent. He then made their Prawda property a weekend retreat from the city during those years and eventually returned there upon retirement. His country home was his "haven" and was the gathering place on weekends for many family and friends over the years. We would like to thank all the staff at Riverview Health Centre (CD2) for making dad's stay there over the past seven years a comfortable and caring one. You knew how to bring a smile to his face and a sparkle in his eye! A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Reynolds Community Hall in Prawda, MB with interment to follow at St. Mary's Riverside Cemetery. If friends desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6 or the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, 1 Wesley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4C6. www.seasonsfunerals.ca
