Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD HENRY BRUCE FRIESEN December 23, 1942 - May 4, 2015 Suddenly on Monday, May 4, 2015, at the age of 72, Eddy was taken from us. He was a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and grandfather. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lena, his children, Bobby (Tom) and Michelle (Matt), grandchildren Morgan and madison, as well as his sister, Marty (Jim), sisters-in-law: Annette (Willy), Louise, Linda, Carol (Marty), and Marlene; brothers-in-law: Adrian, Johnny (Margaret), Peter (Pat), Leonard, Joseph (Margaret), Edmund (Brenda), Archie (Geraldine) and Mitchell (Linda); and many nieces and nephews. Dad retired after a long career with Air Canada. He was a gentle, quiet and friendly man who loved dogs, feeding birds, and watching deer. He enjoyed yard work, gardening and giving away fresh, homegrown vegetables. He was crafty and made step stools, BBQ utensils, cookie sheets, bird houses, and other handmade creations which continue to be enjoyed by family and friends. He loved to support Mom with her wild blueberry business and enjoyed picking up berries in northern communities. He will be missed by all. A private viewing for family will be held Thursday, May 7, 2015. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, May 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Headingley Community Centre, 5353 Portage Ave., Headingley, MB. My heartfelt sympathy to all Eddy's family. So sorry to learn of his passing. I have such fond memories of our visits and his generosity and kindness to me and my family. As a recipient of one of his hand made stools it has always been a treasure to me. Ed was a fun loving brother, we had great times together as a family. Eds. birthday was Dec. 23rd, so he missed having a birthday party due to Christmas. Ed. I will miss you, now you will be with your Father, Mother, sister and brother. You will have a place in my heart forever.
