ERNEST ARTHUR STEPHEN May 20, 1928 - May 2, 2015 It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of our dearly beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother Ernest Arthur Stephen. Ernie leaves behind his wife Margaret, of 52 years, his four children Lynn (Gary) Kilfoyle, Gerald Stephen, Craig (Nancy) Stephen, Melanie Stephen (Ernie Funk), and his five grandchildren, Jennifer Kilfoyle, Geoffrey Kilfoyle (Chelsea Rempel), Garth Stephen, and Shelby and Cameron Stephen. He is also survived by his sisters Beverly (Les) Stacey, Patricia West, brother Brian (Sharline) Ward, brother-in-law Bill Foster, and sisters-in-law Bonnie (Richard) Levenson, Doreen Newman, and Joyce (Gerald) Bullman, also his nieces, nephews and friends. Ernie was predeceased by his parents James Arthur and Opal Stephen, sister Evelyn Foster, and brother-in-law Barry West. Ernie worked for Maple Leaf Mills from 1974 until his retirement in 1992. Ernie's passion and enjoyment was heading out anywhere he could to spend time outdoors. He enjoyed camping, fishing and going on many trips either by himself or with anyone that wanted to come along. Ernie was always ready to go on an excursion. A few of his many trips included going to Arizona with Bev and Les to visit Eve and Bill, to Sault Ste. Marie to visit Pat and two trips to Churchill with Lynn and Gary. He was always happy to chaperone his children's school camping trips and loved to camp with his family. The family wishes to extend its' appreciation and thanks towards medical personnel for their excellent care and compassion. As per Ernie's request, the service and interment at Glen Eden Cemetery will be private. If you wish, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare. Glen Eden Funeral Home 204-338-7111
