BIRCH It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, Shirley Birch, on Sunday May 3, 2015 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 73 years. Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her sons; Chris Birch (Ingrid Schmidt), Keith Birch, Jeff Birch (Jeannie Favel), former husband George Birch; grandchildren; Aundrea, Geoffrey, Andrew, Nicholas, Kiara Birch and Savanah Sears, brothers; Cal and Rick McCulloch and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Joyce Smith and brother-in-law Gord Smith. Shirley was the third child of Wilbert and Phyllis McCulloch. Mom loved to travel and spend time visiting friends and family especially her grandchildren. We would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion. A memorial service will take place on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). Delma and Shirley used to double date. Living close to each other in Fort Gary, they did a lot together. Played a lot of cards in the early marriage years. Could not afford to do much else.
