Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHARRY WARGATY OCTOBER 15, 1916 MAY 7, 2015 In a bitter sweet moment, Uncle Harry has found his wings and has set off on a flight, safe into the arms of God and those gone before him, waiting and anticipating his arrival in Heaven. Jesus, our Good Shepherd took Uncle Harry home on May 7, 2015 at the age of 98 years. Harry was the fourth of eight children born to Ukrainian immigrants, Mary and Onofry Wargaty. He grew up on the Wargaty homestead, beside what is now named Wargaty Lake in Elphinstone (Wisla), Manitoba. He had five brothers, Mike, Dmytro, Nick, Peter and John and two sisters, Tinnie (Andrew Campbell) and Jessie (John Bain), all who worked the family farm and fished the abundant lake. Harry enjoyed visiting with many nieces and nephews including Neal, Marie, Archie (Sue) Campbell, Audrey, Rudy, Edward (Val), Grace (Don Capek), Patsy (Robert Suttorp), Alvin, Ernest, Barry (Bonita) and Jerry Bain and many grand nieces and nephews. Harry was predeceased by his parents; his brothers and sisters, their husbands; his nephews Rudy, Neal and Edward, niece Audrey, great-nephew, Darren and great-great-niece Darcy. Harry and his brother moved to Deaf Centre Manitoba in 1975. Harry worked in the kitchen at DCM, he delivered the Winnipeg Free Press and for many years he assisted Sister Fiola in the Deaf Church. In 2001 Harry moved into Pembina Place Personal Care Home where he was an enthusiastic, active participant in all activities and outings. Harry was a sweet and gentle soul with a glowing smile and who was well loved and will be missed by many. The family wishes to thank the administration and front desk staff at the Deaf Centre Manitoba for their abundant patience, assistance and cooperation; Uncle Harry's many friends at St. Francis de Sales Manitoba Catholic Church Worship Service and Bible Study Groups for sharing their faith and guiding his beliefs; staff of the Pembina Place Mennonite Personal Care Home for their love and exceptional care and compassion and his local community who looked out for him and showed great kindness. Funeral service will take place on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Francis de Sales Manitoba Catholic Church of the Deaf, 285 Pembina Hwy. with interment to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery, Elphinstone, Manitoba on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Uncle Harry, we love you and wish you peace. We know how much you loved each other, it was obvious whenever you were together long time at your home area. We know Harry as well as we know meet him for three years every Thursday he attended to Personal Care Home Deaf Bible Study Fellowship. We have really enjoyed with him so he is very quiet and listen and humor and teased on us. We are missed him. And our thought and prayer are with you and your family at this time. During my years as a nurse at Pembina Place, Harry was a constant light that shone so brilliantly every day. His darling face that always delighted with the antics of his caregivers, his concern for his co-residents, his sharing of his family photos, the love he had for his family... He is one of my fondest memories of the time I spent there. I could always look over at Harry & share a private thought or joke with just the look of an eye (he always had a twinkle in his)! He had wonderful wit & an emotional intelligence that was really a gift to behold. It was an honour to have known him & I will always remember him... and Grace, I must say; I truly enjoyed when you phoned or came to visit. I saw the love you & your family had for Harry & that too was a gift for me to behold. Praying for strength & peace during this time of loss... - Posted by: Susan Duff (Nurse/Caregiver) on: May 10, 2015

Remembering Harry and his love of monster cookies, soup and ice cream. His Mona Lisa smile. His love for Petey the bird. Always concerned for his fellow dinner mates--kept us on our toes! Kudos to Harry--he lived his life the way he wanted to and almost made it to 100 in doing so. It was truly a pleasure to have known him and his late sister Jessie.
