My mother, Marjorie McLeod, treasured her friendship with Edith, especially enjoying visiting when her cousin Phyllis was in town. When my father died Edith was one of the first to come visit bringing food and comfort. And I remember the lovely cake she made for my sister's wedding. Auntie Edie was a loving, respectful lady. I got to know her well she brought a light back into Uncle Charlie's life. Even in dark moments she persevered with a strong sense of love.
