Born: Sep 22, 1955
Date of Passing: May 09, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES (JIM) HANSEL HENRY HALE September 22, 1955 - May 9, 2015 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and untimely passing of our dear brother Jim on Saturday, May 9, 2015. Jim was predeceased by our parents Henry (1995) and Betty (1999). He will be lovingly missed and forever remembered by his sisters Lynda (Richard) Decarie, twin sister Sue (David) Kostuik, and Kim (Richard) Leroy; nieces and nephews Dana (Darren), Kevin (Jo Ann), Christophe, Renée; great-niece Kara, and great-nephews Carson and Bryson. Early in his career Jim was employed with Sears Canada where he grew a love of photography. More recently he worked at Lee Valley Tools where he was able to exhibit his passion for fine woodworking and sharing his handmade projects with his family. He retired a few months ago and was looking forward to helping family and friends with their many projects. Jim loved the outdoors and spending time at the cabin with his family that he would often refer to as "the gang". He was known for his fire starting abilities and laughter through many seemingly endless games of "Janitor". He thoroughly enjoyed watching his nephew and niece play soccer and was looking very forward to the upcoming outdoor season. We would like to thank the efforts of the emergency responders and Dr. Harati and staff at the Grace Hospital. Viewing will be held Friday, May 15, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. A private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's name to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). "Toodles!!" Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenedenmemorial.ca Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 204-338-7111

Jim was a wonderful friendly guy, and I was so upset to hear of his passing. I met him many years ago when he first started with LV, and anytime I was in Winnipeg to do training or needed help with something by phone, he was always such a pleasure to work with. It is a sad day indeed - we'll miss you, Jim. - Posted by: Shannon (co-worker from LV head office) on: May 15, 2015

Jim was always sporting that smile and loved humour which was often behind the smile. He always had answers for questions from LV customers. Jim was Mr. Can-Do-Awesome!! I was so saddened to hear of his passing. Jim's soul was so positive and he relished taking on whatever responsibility and executing it in the most above and beyond absolute best way! I still remember when we had to order a very high quantity of an item just to get one for a customer, and Jim said "Order them, and send them all. I'll make sure they all sell." Well, he sold what most thought would take forever in a blink of an eye- even ordered more twice over and sold all of those too (without pre-orders from customers- unheard of). Jim I hope you are still smiling somewhere and appreciated always as you should be! You are AWESOMENESS! - Posted by: Julie Wenzel (Worked with Jim on Lee Valley's Special Orders for the Winnipeg Store) on: May 14, 2015

I was Dave and Sue's Next neighbor for a long time. I met Jim a couple of times. He was at Sears Garden City, I lost track of him later. Sue and Dave were always there to lend a hand. I am sorry for your loss. Ken - Posted by: Ken Kowaluk (Former neighbor of Dave and Sue Kostick) on: May 14, 2015
