Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONNA BERYL MANNING It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Donna on Monday, May 11, 2015 at the Gimli Community Hospital at the age of 82. Donna was an intensely private person who had a quiet disposition. She was a gifted athlete who excelled in softball and golf and has been inducted into the Manitoba Softball Hall of Fame as an athlete and as a team member. Donna played for both the West Kildonan Tigerettes and CUAC Blues. She was an outstanding hitter, outfielder and pitcher and she also achieved a hole-in-one. Donna was employed with Imperial Steel most of her career. She enjoyed her winter sojourns to Pharr, Texas where she was involved in floor curling, golf and bingo. She was active in Gimli with New Horizon 55 Plus Centre as a participant and volunteer. Donna is survived by her brother Glen (Barbara), three nephews, two nieces and their families. She was predeceased by her parents Alfred and Hilda and her sister Hazel McCardle (Al). The family would give a special thank you to Doctors Rhoma, Calin and Kinsler and the nursing team for all their efforts. Donna's home care attendants were always appreciated and to Betty and Peggy for going the extra mile. Thank you. Many thanks to Kathy Penner for her tireless efforts in order that Donna could maintain and live comfortably in her home. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue. Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Softball Hall of Fame 321-145 Pacific Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2Z6. It was a sad day when this fantastic, loving, caring lady joined the angels in heaven. I will miss her a lot and our conversations. I know she is once again playing baseball and floor shuffle board having the time of her life. RIP my friend. Cathy I am sorry for the loss of your dear friend. I was sorry to learn of the passing of Donna. I played baseball with her many years ago and have fond memories of that time. I am unable to attend the funeral to pay my respects because of a disability. My condolences to friends and family.
