JACOB ZACHARIAS UNRAU 1931 - 2015 On May 12, 2015 Jacob Zacharias Unrau, 84 years of age, passed away peacefully into the presence of his Saviour, surrounded by his family at the Selkirk General Hospital. Jake was predeceased by his parents and two brothers. Jake was born February 21, 1931 in Bergfeld, MB. Growing up on the farm, he developed a love of the land. He got his journeyman ticket in carpentry and in 1966 he went back to his first love, farming. Jake and Lilli settled on the farm near Selkirk, MB, where they raised their family. Jake was an active member of the community and was involved in curling, golfing, and their church. He and Lilli took great pleasure playing their harmonicas and singing for the residents of the Betel Home. During the winter months, Jake and Lilli spent many happy winters in California where they developed numerous close friendships and enjoyed entertaining friends with card games and fellowship. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank Dr. Zoppa and the excellent staff at the Selkirk General Hospital for their compassionate care and kindness extended to Jake and the family.
