Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOANNE LESLIE STEWART (nee MATHESON) December 12, 1954 - May 11, 2015 With great sorrow, we announce the tragic passing of Joanne Stewart at her home in Lilyfield, Manitoba. Wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, counsellor - Joanne was deeply loved and admired by all who knew her. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Shirley Matheson, she leaves her husband Kelvin Stewart, son Jeff (Kristy) Oshoway and daughter Aynslie Oshoway, all of Winnipeg, beloved grandsons Wyatt and Ethan Oshoway, stepmother Edna Matheson, siblings Melanie, Tamsen (Ted Hicks), Shaun (Allan Lindal), Thomas (Joanne) and Warren (Crystal), 18 nieces and nephews, four great-nieces and nephews and many dear friends. She grew up in Stonewall and Selkirk, MB, took her RN training at HSC and her BA at the Univeristy of Winnipeg. People were Joanne's life-blood; she nursed them in spirit and loved them with the intuition to know what their needs were and the knowledge to say the right thing. Her people and her dogs were the loves of her life and her enjoyment of romance and beauty, the icing on her cake. She lived her life with grace and dignity. Prayers were held Monday, May 18, 7:00 p.m., Weston Salvation Army Community Church, 1390 Roy Ave., Winnipeg. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 19, 11:00 a.m., Salvation Army Weetamah Church, 324 Logan Avenue, Winnipeg. Donations may be made to Joanne's favourite charity, the Canadian Cancer Society. MacKenzie Funeral Home mackhome@mts.net 204-467-2525
