EVELYN DESIATNYK On May 16, 2015, with her family by her side and in her spirit, it's with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our rock, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and great-grandmother Evelyn Desiatnyk. Left to honour and cherish her memory is her loving husband of 54 years, George, her four children Gregg (Anna), Beverley (Eldon), Sharon, and Karen (Wayne); grandchildren Rachel (Rob), Bronson, Matthew (Sherry), Stephanie, Nicole, Clayton and Haylee, as well as great-grandchild Tyler. She also leaves to mourn her passing sister Eileen (Shaker), and brothers Frank (Suzanne), Abe (Mary) and Jake (Jeanette). Evelyn is one of the most amazing and strong spirited women that one could meet. Her influence will have a lasting impression on us all. To our "Mama Bear" her family was EVERYTHING. She never stopped loving us and never wavered in her support regardless of the life choices we may have made. She was our protector, our caregiver, our strength, our sanity and above all the most beautiful, stubborn, spontaneous and heart-warming wife. We love you! We miss you! We are grateful for every moment we have ever shared with you. Although you leave us now, your strength and courage will fill the empty hole in our hearts. You have given us so much it is our turn to give you peace and comfort. We will be okay, we will carry on. We have learnt from the best, a True Survivor. A piece of your fight will live in all of us. A private service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. My condolences to the family. I have really good memories of having the Desiatnyks as neighbours and friends. Evelyn was one of the nicest, kindest people I knew as I was growing up. We spent lots of time sitting on the stairs of the house on Basswood talking. Having Evelyn and the rest of the family as neighbours and friends made growing up in Wolsely an awseome experience could have not asked for better people to have as neighbours and friends! - Posted by: Darryl figler (Friend/neighbour) on: May 23, 2015

I remember visiting your home as kids and we always had a blast playing with so many cousins. Running up and down the stairs as our place didn't have any. Your mom was always warm and welcoming. She will keep my mom company up in heaven. - Posted by: Sandra & David ( Kulczycki) (cousin) on: May 20, 2015
