Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY WHITE The family of Dorothy White sadly announces her death on May 17, 2015 just shy of her 105th birthday. Dorothy was born July 6, 1910 in Johannesburg, South Africa, moved to England at age five and to Canada at age 16. She met John "Jack" White in Waskeda, MB in 1926 and they married in 1931. Together they worked on farms in Manitoba and Saskatchewan, settling in Winnipeg in 1938. Dorothy was a long time employee of Glendale Golf and Country Club. While raising five children, Dorothy volunteered her time as president and founding member of Kirkfield Park Home and School Association and A.C.W. She was a founding member of "Over 60" club at St. Andrew's Church and delivered "Meals on Wheels". She lovingly welcomed and supported daughters-in-law and sons-in-law and every new baby. Dorothy cherished family time and enjoyed attending family weddings, christenings, birthdays, graduations and convocations. Predeceased by her husband of over 65 years Jack, son John, daughter-in-law Nettie, son-in-law David and great-grandson Braidy. Dorothy is lovingly remembered by her sons Gerry (Joan), Wayne (Elinor), Sylvia (Jim) and Joan, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are granddaughter Jill White and grandsons Stephen White, Grant Linklater, Andrew Linklater, Brent Wiebe, Sean White and Brian White. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Avenue. So sorry to hear of Dorothy's passing.We only knew her for a short time while she was in Heritage. She was a real busy little lady and very cheerful. She was lucky to have such good daughter in laws who spent a lot of time visiting her and others in Heritage. Helen is still kicking and will be 97 on Sept.9.Keep your chins up and once again our condolances.
