Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (DALE) MCCLELLAND February 13, 1939 - May 12, 2015 It is with great sorrow we must announce the passing of Dale after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson Disease. Dale embraced life and lived it to the fullest until his health failed. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Joan. Also left to mourn are daughters Wendy (Dale) Johnston, Jan (Dan) Stupich, grandchildren Brendan and Laura Johnston, brother Ray (Judy), mother-in-law Nora Vansdal, many extended family members and numerous nieces and nephews. Dale grew up in Regina, close to Taylor Field and became a Rider fan at a very young age and remained a loyal fan all of his life. Dale was a very good athlete. He played football, fastball and hockey. Joan convinced Dale to curl and Dale in turn convinced Joan to golf. They made many friends through these sports. Besides sports, Dale loved children, music and the outdoors. He was happiest when he was playing with his nieces and nephews, then his daughters Wendy and Jan and then special grandchildren Brendan and Laura. As they grew up they too loved music and sports. Papa' as they called him was a great supporter of their activities including band concerts, baseball, hockey and soccer. Dale and Joan loved to travel and after retirement spent six winters in the Rio Grande Valley where they made life-long friends. In 2006 Dale's health began to fail. Shortly thereafter were unable to travel. Dale was very dedicated to the Lion's Club and through his hard work and long term membership he was awarded a Life Membership in Lion's International. He was also a Mason and an associate member of Royal Canadian Legion. Thank you to Dr. George and Dr. Joshua, the nurses, aides and staff of 5N at Grace Hospital. Thank you to Dr. Rumbolt for years of kind and compassionate care. Thank you to Neeraj, Primo, Donovan, Alex and Robert from Home Care. Memorial Service will be held May 21 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Anglican Church, 3830 Roblin Boulevard. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to http://donate.Parkinson.ca/goto/dalecclelland for our family team in the Super Walk or Parkinson's Society of Manitoba, 414 Westmount Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba R2J 1P2.
